Self-Destruct is the movie moment made real on your screen: a giant red MM:SS timer counting down to detonation, flashing “sequence initiated” warnings, scrolling hazard stripes, a row of critical status read-outs and a big ABORT button. Hit ABORT to stand down, RESET to run it again — and rest assured nothing anywhere actually detonates.
What makes Self-Destruct different
Self-Destruct is the movie countdown made real on screen: a giant MM:SS timer ticking toward detonation, hazard stripes, critical status read-outs and a big ABORT button. Unlike the looping ambient scenes, it has real jeopardy and a clock that actually runs down — then flashes, resets and loops. Nothing anywhere actually detonates.
What you can do with it
- A tense “we have to get out” countdown for videos, films and sketches
- A dramatic stage or event timer with maximum jeopardy
- A prank countdown on a spare screen — with an obvious ABORT to break the tension
How to use Self-Destruct
- Open it and the countdown is already armed and ticking down on its own.
- Press number keys 1–5 (or the buttons) — ABORT to stand down, RESET to re-arm, +30 SECONDS to extend, DETONATION for the fictional flash, RE-ARMED to run it again.
- In Customize, set the starting time (10 seconds to an hour) and the facility label, and show or hide the status line.
- Press Fullscreen (or add ?present=1) for a tense event or prank timer — with an obvious ABORT to break the tension.
Customize it
Set the countdown length (10 seconds up to an hour), the facility label, and whether the status line shows. At zero it just flashes and re-arms — nothing detonates.
Does anything actually happen at zero?
No. At zero the screen just flashes and resets — there is no explosion, no damage and nothing real behind it. It is a scripted animation.
Can I set the countdown length?
Yes. Customize lets you set the start time (up to an hour), the facility label and whether the status panel shows, and you can ABORT, RESET or add time at any point.
